I spent my grammar school years living in Fort Payne and Mentone and still visit when I get a chance. I love going back and remembering a time of innocence and happieness.When the term "Alabama the Beutiful" was coined they had to be standing atop Lookout Mountain.

September 11th was devistating for so many. Even for those who did not loose a family member or friend still felt pain for those who did. Those of us who have Soldiers for Father's, Brother's, Son's, Mother's, Sister's, or Friends are feeling so much pride. My Brother is in the Navy and in the US. My Son is in the Army, part of the 101st now serving in Afghanistan since early January. I am a proud Army Mom. I have a friend serving aboard the USS Kennedy and I am just as proud of him. Just wanted to say the Fireman's tribute is wonderful. My brother died April 8, 2001 in the line of Duty as a Volunteer Firefighter in Arkansas. Each time I run across a site reminding people that there are "Angels" among us, it brings a smile to my day. Thank you for supporting those who look out after each of us!

May God Watch Over All Firefighter and keep them safe. On Sept. 11th 2001 over 340 firefighters lost their lives during the terrorist attack. they didnt died in vain they died doing what they love to do trying to save some one.

I thoroughly enjoyed this page it's nice to get recognition even for something you love to do, a lot of people say the police and firefighters are the heroes when in reality it was the nation as a whole the firefighters and police were doing their job and something they loved to do.
