Well, I'll tell you all some things that I've been searching for since I'm here. I'm a Payne family descendant, & though we've never been able to prove it, we think that Fort Payne, Alabama is named after our Capt. John Payne, who was our Civil War Confederate Soldier Ancestor. Yet another thing is that I'm also specifically looking for William Payne, who was one of our Revolutionary War Soldier Ancestors, & he had settled in Morengo County, Alabama after the Revolutionary War, & wondering if he had a will from there.
